PLEASANTON, TEXAS (November 20, 2008) – Cactus Ropes has had a four-strand calf rope in the development phase for the past six months. It is already exceeding expectations without even being released to the general public.
Cactus has worked hand-in-hand with Trevor Brazile, PRCA 2008 All-Around Cowboy, for the past six months to develop a four-strand calf rope – the Weapon. This is the latest endeavor for Cactus and it is proving to be very encouraging. Trevor has competed two times with the Weapon and has won over $50,000 to date. On October 28, Brazile competed in the steer roping at the Wrangler Cowboy Roping Fiesta in San Angelo, Texas and won the average on four head with a time of 56.33 and a total of $11,352.50. On November 14, he competed in the National Finals Steer Roping in Hobbs, New Mexico and won an incredible $40,195, placing second in the average with a time of 104.9 on nine head. He won the first and eighth rounds, placed second in the third and seventh rounds and took home money in three of the remaining six rounds.
Brazile’s all-around total is now at $270,770. His closest competitor, Josh Peek, is over $104,000 behind going into the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas. Brazile is one of 13 Cactus Cowboys who have qualified, and Brazile has qualified in both the team roping and tie-down roping.
Cactus expects this rope to do very well and is very excited about its upcoming release. In addition, there is a new four-strand team rope – the Xplosion – that will also be in Brazile’s “Relentless” line. Trevor is working with Cactus Ropes, Cactus Saddlery and Pro Equine Products and will release a complete line of Relentless products. Look for this new four-strand calf rope and team rope at your local feed store on December 1.
